How We Gather Our Data
Thousands of hours of extensive telephone research interviews with leading managed care executives are conducted to assure that you have the most up to date and accurate information available. All the data in the National Directory of Managed Care Organizations Database is collected directly from the organizations themselves, by regular surveys in the mail, by fax and e-mail, state government agencies with whom plans must file reports, CMS Medicare data, the MCOs' public Web site postings, other public sources of information, documents we obtain (annual/quarterly reports and income statements) news releases received, proprietary data files developed, gathered and maintained by the Managed Care Information Center, and by extensive telephone interview research by our own staff.
With turnover of MCO executives estimated to be close to 40% and with frequent mergers and acquisitions and relocations, it is virtually impossible for you or members of your staff to track. With the online database, you have access to the most current information available. Our updates are made by the Managed Care Information Center Research staff continually as changes occur.
