Mining Health Risk Assessment Data
for Improved Outcomes and ROI

Manasquan, N.J., USA, April 12, 2005 - A powerful component of a health plan’s disease management toolkit is the Health Risk Assessment (HRA), which assesses the population’s health status and targets actionable programs to address identified risks. Harnessing healthcare costs by implementing effective HRAs and mining the resulting data is the focus of a May 4, 2005 audio conference sponsored by the Healthcare Intelligence Network (HIN).

“Health Risk Assessments: Mining the Data for Improved Outcomes and ROI” audio conference will detail ways health plans are using HRAs not only to help select members for wellness/disease management programs but also as a resource for predictive modeling efforts. “The aggregate data gained from HRAs allows employers and health plans to track risk changes and health cost trends and pinpoint evolving employee health needs and interests,” according to Melanie Matthews, HIN Executive Vice President. The audio conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on May 4, 2005. For more details and system requirements for attending the web-assisted audio conference, please visit the HIN bookstore.

Industry experts David Kil, Chief Science Officer, Innovation Center, Humana, Inc. and Gregg Lehman, PhD, President and Chief Executive Officer, Gordian Health Solutions, will provide the following details on health risk assessments:

  • Getting physicians to use HRAs;
  • Incentives for completing HRAs;
  • Stratifying HRA results for predictive modeling;
  • Personalizing healthcare content based on HRA results;
  • Refining and improving the HRA -- how it's evolved over time; and
  • Results from HRA programs.

This audio conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern time on May 4, 2005. It will conclude with a live question-and-answer period when participants can tap the presenters’ expertise and ensure that all aspects of the subject are addressed. A recorded version of this audio conference will be available on CD-ROM in late May.

This audio conference is directed at CEOs, medical directors, disease management directors, managers and coordinators, health plan executives, care management nurses, business development and strategic planning directors. For more information on the conference, please email info@hin.com, call toll-free (888) 446-3530 or visit the HIN bookstore.
