- "A recent study by the Commonwealth Fund found that Medicare would save an estimated $1.9 billion annually if all hospital readmission rates could match those achieved by the top performing 10 percent regions in the country. Hands-on, high-touch care for the frail elderly, who constitute the lion’s share of Medicare readmissions, will have a substantial impact on these costs."
