The CMS-mandated ICD-10 transition continues to consume affected healthcare entities as they work to complete the necessary training, testing and adjustments to workflows, business operations and software by the October 1, 2013 deadline.
To assist companies in this transition, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan(BCBSM) will share its three-step process for resolving discrepancies between ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes during a January 18, 2012 webinar, "Mapping the Way to ICD-10 Readiness: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Approach." The Healthcare Intelligence Network webinar is scheduled for 1:30 pm Eastern.
BCBSM's approach has allowed the payor to complete its version of the General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs) and move closer to ICD-10 compliance readiness.
