What We Learned:
The Healthcare Intelligence Network's Obesity & Weight Management e-survey conducted in April 2010 captured the efforts of more than 130 organizations in the prevention and reduction of obesity and related conditions and costs in their populations. According to survey respondents, the top five reimbursable services for adult participants in weight management programs are:
- Nutrition counseling: 100 percent
- Annual physician visits: 78.6 percent
- Gastric bypass surgery: 57.1 percent
- Preventive screenings: 57.1 percent
- Weight management: 50 percent

The disease management data contained in this benchmarks report are derived from three separate surveys conducted in 2010 by the Healthcare Intelligence Network, to which a total of 425 organizations responded.
