Manasquan NJ USA -- December 13, 2006: Physicians who report on quality measures will be eligible for a 1.5 percent incentive payment beginning in July 2007 thanks to legislation passed by Congress on December 9th.

Industry experts had predicted that CMS' physician voluntary reporting program (PVRP) would be tied to physician reimbursement in the near future. Physician organizations who are already participating in CMS' PVRP began receiving feedback on their results in December.

"CMS' Voluntary Physician Reporting Program: Analyzing the Feedback and Preparing for 2007 Updates," a December 12, 2006 audio conference, will examine the voluntary reporting of quality measures by physician practices to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
