4.) Unlocking The Key To Retiree Participation In Wellness Programs

Retirees gradually drop out of company sponsored health promotion and wellness programs, in some cases because they have relocated to a different community. But one study has found General Motors (GM) retirees are more likely to use such communication-based efforts like wellness program newsletters and telephone calls.

In each of the study periods, from 1996 to 1999 and 2000 to 2002, two groups of retired employees had higher participation rates in mailing and phone call-based programs than the active employees, the researchers discovered.
