2.) St. Joseph's Health Care: Real-Time Secure Access to Workforce Information

Before the Workbrain implementation, Saint Joseph's Health Care used multiple systems and manual time keeping processes to capture employee time for entry into the payroll system. 3.) IPA-Member Doctors Access Medical Records By Defraying Costs

Just five years ago, less than 10 percent of the physicians in Hudson Valley-based Taconic IPA (TIPA) used computer systems during the clinical day. Yet now more than 500 doctors are accessing a portal that gives up-to-the minute integrated patient data through a secure Internet connection.

The 2,300-member physician organization spurred the data sharing effort between different electronic medical records (EMRs) vendors in late 2004, and the impetus has blossomed into a regional health information organization (RHIO).
