Healthcare Trends for 2017: ACA Anxieties Aside,
Majority Well-Positioned for Value-Based Reimbursement
White Paper Abstract: As healthcare faces a new year and the United States a new president, the Affordable Care Act's post-election fate is top of mind for respondents to the Healthcare Intelligence Network's 2017 Healthcare Trends survey. In identifying their organizations most formidable 2017 challenge, 10 percent referenced either the election, ACA uncertainty or the incoming presidential administration. As one respondent stated, 'the ability to pivot based upon disruption due to the Trump administration' would be a key skill for the year ahead.
Respondents are also gearing up for the January 1, 2017 kickoff of programs tied to the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). In identifying their MACRA pace, 9 percent said they will participate for the full calendar year, while 9 percent said they will participate in an Advanced Alternative Payment (APM) model in 2017.
